The Cosmology of Fractal Patterns
We live in a Cosmos of fractal patterns that are created and then repeated numerous times again as the cosmos expands. The fractal patterns are all around us and in us as well. It seems chaotic, but it isn’t.
Paul Stamets, the leading mycologist, and mushroom expert in the world recently said: “Brain neurons, mycelium and internet networks all share the same architype. I believe that mycelium (the massive underground networks of mushroom roots) begets life, life becomes single cells, single cells form chains, chains from branches, matrices (of branches) form interlocking, intersecting mosaics (networks) of mycelium organisms on this planet and on all other planets in the universe.”
from Paul Stamets.com
In other words, mycelium is a network that continually nurtures, sustains, and regenerates every cell and branch of its network.
You could also say that this is another definition of love - at a microbiological level. The essence of any type of love is the natural ability to automatically, effortlessly, nurture, sustain and regenerate/protect your loved ones. Anyone or anything that can love so completely and naturally is “lovable.”
Mycelium is a lovable network - which lovingly nurtures, sustains and protects (by regenerating) every other aspect of itself in its network.
Despite my many faults, I have been blessed with the ability to go far beyond the limitations of mind-body awareness. Like everyone else on this planet, the core of my awareness contains a fractal copy of celestial/divine awareness; I have traveled deep enough within my own awareness to be able to explore the very source, and nature, of celestial awareness.
Based on numerous experiences in the various regions of heavenly consciousness, it is obvious to me that humankind was created as a fractal copy/image of divine awareness. It is also clear to me that celestial awareness acts in a remarkably comparable manner to mycelium.
The following picture is a snapshot of a small section of a mycelium (mushroom) network of interconnecting and intersecting branches/roots. It looks identical to similar pictures of the human neural network or the electrical pathways in the human brain. …..hmmm Fractal copies of fractal copies.

Celestial/divine consciousness, which is initially still, creates self-organizing fractal patterns when it becomes active. As the celestial consciousness expands it then begets/creates single (fractal copy) fields of new consciousness (human souls), which then create new trains of thought (aka, branches), which then create new single memories of interlocking and intersecting thoughts, which then beget new mosaic (karmic) networks of intersecting memories (of thoughts and emotions).
In the same manner that divine consciousness is a cosmic wide matrix of zillions of various nodes/souls of divine consciousness that continue to love, nurture, sustain and regenerate every other soul in the interconnected cosmic network, the massive mycelium organisms also (lovingly) nurtures, sustains and regenerates every other cell and branch in the mycelium network.
This is a fractal pattern that is common throughout the entire Universe.
Like mushrooms, trees constantly share their vital essence with their branches, their roots, and every single leaf on the tree. Like trees and mushrooms, our human body shares its life force energy with every other organ and cell in the human body.
Likewise, divine consciousness shares its energetic life force, in a lovable, nurturing, sustaining and regenerating manner, with every other soul in the cosmos - and is likewise loved, nurtured, sustained, and regenerated by every other soul, and organism, in the cosmos.
This divine awareness is everywhere within you - whether you believe it or not. The wisdom of trillions of years of celestial wisdom flows through your soul, your brain, and your entire body. But when you are fully conscious of your gift of divine awareness, it flows much more beautifully.
The Divine River constantly runs through us
We live to learn how to become divinely lovable. We find and melt into the river of divine loving consciousness - to learn how to live like a divine human.
The core of the mystic path of divine consciousness is not much different than the core of the Sufi path or the core of the ancient Taoist path of Wu-Wei, or the Gnostic path of Yeshua, or the Sikh path of Guru Nanak, or the Sant Mat path of Soami Ji. All these paths are aimed at gently and tenderly helping humans to discover the divine river of loving consciousness that flows through them.
Divine Consciousness (aka, God, Allah, Brahman, Sat-Chit-Ananda) is the ultimate state of Love. But it’s a different type of love than most of us are aware of. It’s not a love of subject-object relationships, thoughtful habits, or emotional affirmations. It’s a state of pure love that loves, nurtures, sustains and recreates every sentient being in the cosmic network. It never stops this divine act of love. It never stops giving everything that it is to the rest of the universe. It’s constantly creating new humans in a selfless act of divine love.

Like a heavenly river, divine consciousness never stops flowing through us – as a living and very lovable example of the ultimate possibilities of human potential. It never stops being divinely lovable.
As humans, most of us have unfortunately lost our awareness of the divine river of universal love that is constantly flowing though us. Likewise, we have lost touch with the fractal copy of divine lovability that lives at the very heart of our souls.
Worse yet, the longer we ignore this divine river of loving consciousness, the less able we are to share this divine lovability with the rest of the world. And the world that we live in now needs it more than it has ever needed it before.
Even though we were born to discover and melt into this river of loving consciousness, most of us don’t even know that it’s there. We’ve lost our way. But this divine river is still there, floating though us and trying to teach us how to become more divinely lovable.
Buddha Found the Mystic River
According to ancient Buddhist legends, around 400 BCE, Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha was meditating one day on the banks of a jungle river. In a meditative state of consciousness Buddha noticed how boats, and people and other things would just come and go, without ever stopping as they floated up and down the river.
This insight became a fundamental lesson for Buddha. He eventually realized that while the river of life is flowing through us, an endless stream of distracting thoughts and emotions also come and go. They just come and go, come and go, and come and go even more. But, in a relaxed manner we can become the divine stream of life while we let everything else come and go – without grabbing onto anything at all. Based on this insight he later advised his disciples to “become the stream winner” by letting go of everything else except the celestial river of loving consciousness that continually flows through us.
Become like the rock in the stream. The debris (the thoughts and emotions that distract us) come and go but when we stop paying attention to them, we can become as pure as this divine river.
As our awareness becomes celestially pure, we become more aware of the celestial network of divine awareness.
Buddha’s White Skeleton Meditation
Deep within a month-long Sadhana, I vividly remembered Buddha’s White Skeleton practice for advanced disciples. Buddha taught 2 different White Skeleton meditations. One for new seekers and one for advanced disciples. Later discussions with several advanced Buddhist Rinpoche’s validated my vision.
Many advanced disciples let go of everything so completely, that their physical body dissolves, or disappears when they reach the crown chakra. In one instance, I reached the crown chakra (which is outside of the body) while I was sitting on the edge of bed in a guest bedroom. The crown chakra experience is almost indescribable. When you first enter the crown chakra your consciousness expands hundreds of times every second. At the same time, the size and clarity of your inner awareness is also expanding hundreds of times a second.
While this was happening, my friend yelled up to me from the kitchen and said: “Dinner is ready, come on down.” Her words just came and went – like dust in the wind. I couldn’t have answered if I had wanted to. I was too deeply immersed in an expanding river of loving consciousness. It was like being in a river, flowing over a 20,000-foot cliff into an incredibly vast sea of divine existence.
I couldn’t answer, so she walked upstairs and looked in every room – constantly asking for permission to enter. Finally, she came to the bedroom that I was in. Then she opened the door and walked right though the empty space where my body used to be. I could vaguely see her as her arms also waved through the empty spaces where my body used to be. But, deep within my meditation, I couldn’t do anything else except continue to meditate.
Many of the ancient Taoist mystics were called immortals because they too often disappeared while they were meditating.

When your physical body dissolves on the way to the crown chakra most mystics then float back downward through two different hidden fields of consciousness until they reach the White Skeleton Region. This is a region of a dark blue sky containing uncountable millions of bright white sparkling stars.
While you are floating there you will eventually notice strings of white light connecting different stars to other stars of white light. In a few seconds or so, you will notice the creation of your new skeleton of white light. Over a few more seconds (or minutes) your entire body is created, layer by layer, while you simply float in a cosmic field of divine consciousness.
I’ve talked to several Buddhists in this life who have had the same experience.
The White Skeleton Meditation Guide
Buddha taught us to begin the White Skeleton practice by following the stream of our loving consciousness from the eye center and into the tiny chakra in the middle of the toe on our left foot. Then he taught us how to pour our divine love into this chakra and to maintain our awareness - as this river of loving consciousness. As we did this, the aura, or luminant field, of the toe chakra constantly became much larger, much more vibrant, and much more luminant. Over time we could also feel the same identical loving vibrations coming from the toe chakra and from our eye center chakra.

The same type of thing happens in any church, temple, satsang, kirtan or bhandara meeting when groups of loving people meet to meditate, or pray, together. The currents of love from every single person automatically flow to every other person in the group. A lot of seekers mistakenly think that it’s the love of the “guru/preacher” that is causing this to happen. But even if the guru/preacher weren’t there, these currents of love would both continue to flow and continue to slowly enlighten everyone in the room/podcast. This is a special type of divine loving consciousness that is constantly loving, nurturing, and sustaining every other person in the room.
The mycelium network acts in a similar manner - loving, nurturing and sustaining every branch of its interconnected network.
After we had enlightened the toe chakra, Buddha instructed us to maintain that stream of loving consciousness while we created new steams of loving consciousness with over 100 other chakras in the human body. This is a meditation practice designed for advanced mystics.
If our concentration drifted, Buddha insisted that we start the practice again. Even with Buddha’s help it took most of us more than 2 months of practice to achieve the final goal. After connecting with these 100+ chakras, Buddha instructed us to place our attention in any sparkling star that we could see in the air. In advanced states of meditation most modern mystics can also usually see trillions of sparkling stars, or bubbles of awareness, in the air.
The result of this meditation practice is the ability to emulate the nature of the divine celestial network of consciousness that we sometimes call “God.” The more you emulate or practice this method, the closer you become to dissolving within this heavenly consciousness.
I have been teaching an easier modern version of the Buddha’s white skeleton practice for almost 20 years, and it has had a profound effect on many new seekers. I also teach a more advanced meditation guide for highly advanced disciples – who eventually learn how to maintain a loving, nurturing and sustaining stream of loving consciousness with up to one trillion other bubbles of consciousness at the same time. It’s a prerequisite meditation technique that must be accomplished before anyone is able to merge into the heavenly source of divine awareness.
It's much harder than you might think it is, as a seeker. But it’s much easier than you might think it is at higher levels of mystic consciousness.
Living in and beyond this World of Chaos
There’s a new Golden Age of Spirituality emerging. But what are you doing about it? Are you coping with the changes? Do you see the chaos as chaos, or just as dandelion fluff floating in the winds of time?”

Have you become a stream winner, or are you drowning in the current state of chaos? Has your meditation made a meaningful difference in your life, or have you forgotten about the river of divine loving consciousness that is always flowing through you?
Are you making a positive difference in the world, or are you contributing to the confusion and the contentiousness of the current round of worldwide chaos? Can you let go, or at least ignore the left-side and right-side arguments, or have you taken a firm stand supporting one side or the other?
Do you think of yourself as part of the government narrative, the alternative narrative, or the spiritual narrative? Are you in a state of spiritual peace or are you in a state of opposition to one thing or another?
Do you let the chaos flow blissfully downstream, or do you grab it and waste your time thinking about how it might negatively affect your soul?
Your life is about you, and the reasons that you were born. It’s about you and how you can lift yourself above and beyond the stress, the threats and fears that you might have about where the world at large is going. It’s not about the economic welfare of your country, your state, your city, or your bank account. It’s about the love at the core of your soul.
Celestial meditation is not difficult or complex.
It’s just a simple matter of tenderly, and lovingly relaxing into your clear awareness. Eventually, you will start to naturally melt into deeper and deeper states of clear, celestial awareness. When you melt into the very core of your awareness you will become an integral aspect of the celestial network of divine awareness.
It’s easier than you think.
The divine love that flows within you needs to keep flowing. It needs to grow and then glow brightly as you continually melt into deeper and deeper levels of loving consciousness.
This is not about the worldwide trends of this year or next year. It’s about your inner path of divine love that could help to create a new revolution of worldwide spiritual awareness.
As you become more loveable, so does the networked world around you. As your harmonic resonance increases so does the harmonic resonance of the entire network of humanity.
As you learn to stop grabbing at the things in your own life, you help to alleviate the lust for more money and power between the nations of the world.

The river of divine consciousness flows from the heavens through the core of your soul and then out into the entire network of the world – to help you and the rest of the world discover the middle way beyond duality.
It’s the ancient Wu-Wei path of dissolving in the Tao as it flows through the world. And it’s the modern Wu-Way path of floating like a silent observer beyond the mind-body network of fears and emotions – enabling and empowering you to melt into the river of divine loving consciousness that is continually floating through the core of your human awareness.
Lead by example.
Become the loving changes in yourself that you want to see in the world.

Hello Greg, I just subscribed to your substack today. I'm a spiritual person and really always have been, even though I was raised around some people who get into man-made religion, for whatever reason. I heard your great podcast today on Dr. Kevin Barrett's substack which I'm also subscribed to. I've had to endure a good bit of bs from people around me where I live and the King James Bible. Which starts right of the bat with "King" and that we all come from Adam and Eve who had 3 sons and on and on with bs. Although I'm already swamped with books to read and videos to see I look forward to checking out your posts and podcasts when I can. Which is realistically only just some here and there from all I subscribe to research already. My newsletter is https://michaelatkinson.substack.com/
Best regards,
